DAY ONE - Costa Rica Homestay
Welcome to nature's wonderland. Your Interact Representative greets you in the airport and transfers you to Rancho de Espanol, located in the countryside community of La Guacima, Alajuela, where you'll meet your homestay director and host families.

YOUR HOST FAMILIES are relatives, neighbors, or lifelong friends of our homestay directors. In fact, many host families are related to one another. Regardless, all families are constantly monitored and continually evaluated. Host families provide all meals - except those included as part of the touring. Everyone speaks Spanish in the home. Students normally share with one other group member of the same general language ability.

Rancho de Espanol serves as the meeting point and social center for all activities. The park-like grounds feature a swimming pool, volleyball, and soccer.

DAY TWO - Waterfall Gardens/
Have you ever felt the spray from a 120ft waterfall on your face? Well, today is your day. La Paz Waterfall Gardens is known for its spectacular waterfalls and its rescued wildlife preserve, with over 100 species of animals. Later, have fun with your cooking at Rancho de Espanol featuring picadillo and tortillas.

DAY THREE - Coffee & Crafts
Experience the original Cafe Britt coffee tour in Barva de Heredia. You'll be immersed in a colorful journey through their working plantation and roastery. Learn how experts taste or 'cup' coffee to identify and grade the characteristics that qualify a gourmet coffee. Then, browse their factory store and gift shop. Later, visit a popular craft center. Enjoy shopping for traditional hand-painted oxcarts and souvenirs.

DAY FOUR - SOMOS humanitarian
Participate in our exclusive SOMOS humanitarian total experience. You'll receive a list of the most needed items and visit a local 'super', where you'll have an opportunity to purchase those supplies (budget $15 each). Complete your SOMOS experience as you interact with the children while painting, gardening, etc. Later at Rancho, you'll also have fun learning to salsa.

DAY FIVE - Arenal Hot Springs
A delightful drive through the highlands leads to Arenal, Costa Rica's most active volcano. Lunch is included today. Visit a hot springs recreational area. Swim in one of nature's therapeutic pools and stroll the botanical gardens.

DAY SIX - Exploremos!
Your group can elect to participate in a second humanitarian (included) or a day at leisure at Rancho de Espanol for swimming & sports (included) or schedule an optional excursion, such as zip-line or zip-line & rafting combo, a day pass at a popular Pacific Resort, or a Catamaran Cruise to Isla Tortuga. The complete list & respective fees are online in our Resource Guide.

DAY SEVEN - Manuel Antonio National Park
Enjoy a panoramic drive along the Pacific Coast to Manuel Antonio National Park. Explore the walking trails, with tons of wildlife, and then spend the afternoon at a beautiful white-sand beach. Cool off and swim, or just lie on the beach and soak-in the scenery.
